Tiers Monde
Since June 2018 Ansari Cachemire has been committed to the Association France Himalaya Tiers-Monde and has become a sponsor of the Lamdon Jamyang Primary School in Khaltsi, Ladakh (India). The humanitarian association France Himalaya Tiers-Monde has chosen to finance this school's project because it provides schooling for children from deprived families living in isolated villages in Ladakh. L’école privée de Khalsi a ouvert ses portes en 2010 avec un effectif de 32 élèves ils sont aujourd’hui 175. L’école fonctionne grâce aux efforts de la jeune génération de l’Association Bouddhiste du Ladakh (section Sham). Elle se compose de 10 classes allant du CP au CM2. La structure principale est en ciment, les fenêtres mises aux normes sismiques.
Currently only children from the area around Khaltsi can go there, some after a 2 hour drive. Aware of the importance of offering an education to their children, many families from far away want their children to be able to go to school as well. A boarding school has become indispensable and its construction is underway. The building will have a total of 15 rooms, including several classrooms, a boarding school, a refectory with a kitchen, a meeting room and a recreation room equipped with a reading corner and a play area for the children's well-being. Each year the Association provides free school meals for the 175 children attending the school.
