Pashmina Désir - Étole 70x190 cm

From the Jali collection, the Désir Pashmina stole features a delicate and iconic Indo-Persian inspired ornamental design.

The natural elements of the embroidery are aesthetic and refined. We find here a variety of interweaving foliated scrolls, flower bouquets and tiny buds.

The red background was handwoven in the partridge eye style on a traditional loom. The weaver opted for a dense weave to confer the stole an overall sensation of heaviness while maintining a soft touch feeling.

The selvedges have been finished in festoon stitch, the widths are neat.

Pashmina Désir

Jali Collection

The Pashmina Désir stole has been carefully handcrafted in our artisan's family workshop in Srinagar, in the Kashmir valley of India.

Depending on the level of experience of the weaver and embroiderer, the average time required to make so-called Jali creations is 40 days.

This includes 1 to 1.5 days of loom preparation and as many days for weaving.

Please note that the time for cleaning, carding and spinning are not included in the above estimates. For example, the cleaning process alone of 50 grams of raw fibre takes an average of 8 hours.

The average weight of a pashmina stole embroidered is about 110 grams.

À noter que les couleurs réelles peuvent varier sensiblement de celles affichées à l’écran et que des légères imperfections de l’armure et/ou de la broderie sont la garantie d’un travail 100% artisanal.

Please note that your Pashmina stole will be delivered in an elegant case. It will be accompanied by a certificate, a travel pouch, a lavender sachet and a moth-proof cover.
